IASC Donations-2005
In 2005 IASC donated $2,500 in scholarships to the Patrick Kerr Skateboard Scholarship. The following is a breakdown of those donations:
- $1,000 to Sean Neafsey, who will attend Manhattan College-Engineering School and major in environmental engineering. Sean helped to get a public skatepark at Rockaway Beach in Queens, New York City.
- Daniel Caridi received $1,000 scholarship to attend the Art Institute of Boston. He will major in photography. The ninth grader started a petition for a skatepark, lobbied and raised funds to get the park, completed in Fall 2004.
- Mackenzie Brown received $500 to attend the State University of New York in Buffalo. She will major in veterinary medicine. Mackenzie started a petition for a public park, researched park design, raised funds and testified before the town council in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
IASC’s Casino Night raised $3,000 for scholarships that will send six to 10 kids to skateboard camp. IASC also presented $2,500 to the Tony Hawk Foundation.
